Business ideas. Creative ideas. Impact ideas. Story ideas.
Movement ideas. Disruptive ideas.
Even seemingly random ideas.
I love ideas so much, I’ve spent the past decade formulating (and proving) The Framework™, a strategic methodology gleaned from over 17k+ hours of execution in the real world.
The Framework™ is the foundation to my work → building, launching, and growing crazy ideas that solve meaningful problems and empower people.
I’ve been labeled a business strategist, digital strategist, profitability engineer, data nerd, conversion expert, brand experience savant, digital polymath, reverse engineer-er, genius awesome sauce…
Among other things (wink).
I reverse engineer impact, influence, growth, reach, revenue, profitability, solutions… whatever the bottom line.
Can a small town girl launch/grow a glogal agency from Oregon, profitably?
In 1999, I launched the WebSuccessDiva blog and agency, focused on blogging (before it was cool), Google Adwords (we made a killing!), email marketing (open-rates in the 90% lol), and small business websites. Before shutting down both in 2011, we became an award-winning full-scale digital marketing firm and one of the top online marketing blogs.
Lesson learned: build a business you love, versus one you just live with.
Can couples receive effective marriage therapy, exclusively online, on-demand and/or live?
In 2002 I helped an award-winning team of Imago Therapists launch and grow their business online. In 2010, they became the first relationship experts to offer exclusively online programs to couples. Clients today, they have been leading the charge of Imago Therapists moving from the one-to-one to one-to-many, and app/bots coaching, with plans for AR.
Lesson learned: Creating impact and profitability are not mutually exclusive.
Can the toxin-riddled skincare industry see natural skin care products breakthrough, profitably?
In 2005 – 2015 I helped a chemist teacher in Berkeley launch and grow, not one but TWO natural skincare lines. Now recognized as pioneering the industry, both companies still enjoy tremendous success and growth. One is breaking through the deep pocketed industry, the other now has investors like Unilever. (Yep, before natural skincare was cool)
Lesson learned: Play the long game, build relationships over funnels and ad spend.
Can the Oregon girl do it again, launch/grow a successful digital agency, with an entirely crowd-sourced, scalable team? Profitably?
A resounding yes. In 2012, I launched a crowd-sourced digital agency (Maria & Co.), from ground zero, scaling to multiple 7-figures with no offices, little overhead, and amazing results. Since 2012, one-third of my entire bad*ss portfolio, is the result. Reaching a wide range of industries, including ecommerce, medical, legal, political, and beyond.
Lesson learned: Build meticulous experiences for your ideal, most profitable peeps. They will come.
Can two women outside of the world of authors, books and publishing disrupt an entire industry proving the old adage, creative is the variable? And do it profitably?
The answer is yes. In 2017, I partnered with long-time friend, Sarah Newton, to prove the value of creative, influence marketing and Instagram. Turns out, you can start from zero, build a business, and empower youth to pursue entrepreneurship. In 2018 we turned it into a business helping influencers & publishers.
Lesson learned: Follow your gut and do not despise ideas of small beginnings. Ideas need love and patience.
2018 is the year of pudding. They say, the proof is in the pudding. See you next year with a full report.
